Upcoming Financial Literacy Lunch and Learn Workshops at the Patricia Elmore Senior Center.
GBC Bank, in partnership with Greenfield Parks & Recreation and the Patricia Elmore Senior Center, is proud to sponsor a new series of Financial Literacy Lunch and Learn Workshops. These sessions are designed to empower participants with important knowledge about banking, fraud prevention, and retirement planning. Whether you are looking to better understand online banking or preparing for retirement, there is a session for you!
Here’s what’s coming up:
1. Online/Mobile Banking
May 6 | 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Learn how to make the most of online and mobile banking! This session will cover e-statements, bill pay, debit card usage benefits, digital wallets, and how these tools help protect your financial security. GBC Bank customers will also have access to onsite assistance to help set up these services.
2. Scams and Fraud
May 20 | 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Fraudsters are becoming more sophisticated every day. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to recognize and prevent phone scams, online fraud, credit card fraud, wire fraud, check fraud, and check washing. The session will also review debit card best practices to keep your money safe.
3. Information Session
June 10 | 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
This informative discussion will focus on important financial topics such as beneficiaries (POD, TOD, POA), FDIC insurance best practices, and retirement account options like HSAs and IRAs. You’ll learn who can participate and the pros and cons of these savings tools.
4. Retirement Planning
June 26 | 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Start planning your financial future today! This session will guide you through investment options, financial resources, and retirement instruments to help you make confident decisions for your retirement years.
