Riley Festival Opening Ceremonies held in Entertainment Tent!

The 2010 Riley Festival Opening Ceremonies will be held in the Entertainment Tent in downtown Greenfield, IN. The opening ceremonies begin at 6 pm, Thursday, October 2. Imediately following the opening ceremonies Greenfield Banking Company will sponsor a free concert. We hope you will join us!

This event is held the first weekend in October each year, Thursday through Sunday. Since the early 90's the bank has been a participant of the Riley Festival. From 1992 through 1998 the event was a Pig Roast and Western Street Dance. In 1999 the bank brought “Endless Summer,” a musical variety group, for an opening performance in place of the Pig Roast.

We continue this tradition of sponsoring a musical performance to kick of the Festival each year. Please join us!

Entertainment on the Plaza

In June, 1971 the bank sponsored a free 100th anniversary concert of the Indianapolis Symphony Pops Orchestra. We continued this tradition each year through 1986. In 1987, the first “Entertainment on the Plaza” season was launched, bringing a different performance each Friday evening through June, July and August. The event was held on the newly constructed Hancock County Courthouse Plaza, hence the series name.

Entertainment on the Plaza continues and each summer eight performances are held, free to the public. The event draws over 13,000 people each summer. The concerts are sponsored by Greenfield Banking Company with the cooperation of the City of Greenfield..
